Giandaniele Asquini, MA(London), FRSA


Gianda is from Udine (Italy), the area north-east of Venice referred to as the Triangle of the Chair and home to many renowned companies such as Moroso, Fantoni, Electrolux, Snaidero, Calligaris to cite a few. He has spent a number of years studying and working in the UK, Germany, Italy and reached India for the first time in 2009.


After completing the Product Design Bs'c course at Brunel University, famed for its high level of engineering teaching, his career started in 2002 working as a designer in Germany for the automotive interior manufacturing company Faurecia Interior Systems. He worked three years with the Design/R&D team styling and developing interior concepts for Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda, Jaguar amongst others.


In 2005 he joined the Industrial Design MA course at Central Saint Martins, London, known for its overriding creative approach where the two years of research changed and refined his approach to design.


From early ’08 he collaborated with Studio&Partners and Terri Pecora in Milan, on a variety of projects from conceptual stage to production and in diverse fields such as Product and Light design, Office systems design, Interior spaces and branded environments for clients such as Castelli-Haworth, iGuzzini, Zumtobel, Simas, Mobistar and Lufthansa.


He came to India for the first time in ’09 on a collaborative project with Art d’inox, a daughter company of Jindal Steel, developing a range of household products where the Industrial and Crafts processes meet, giving birth to products which highlight the importance of the crafts in India. Something that in Europe we have long forgot.
